It’s easy to understand why Peel Ports is a vital part of the Irish Sea ferry market. Shipping lines from our terminals give you an unparalleled doorway from Britain’s centre, right into Ireland’s two capital cities and the Isle of Man. Port of Heysham also gives you unrestricted access to the Irish Sea.
We have an ongoing focus on investing in operational efficiency. The breadth and quality of our facilities and port services provide everything you need for a secure supply chain and an increase in profitability. Across all of our RoRo ports we can take both accompanied and unaccompanied traffic.
At Heysham our RoRo terminal is a 24/7 operation. We have a 120,000 m² multi-user terminal with 1km of berths including three roll-on roll-off berths and we can accommodate both accompanied and unaccompanied passengers. Our annual RoRo unit throughput is 240,000 and we have invested heavily in the terminal management system. We’re unique in that our port has unrestricted access to the Irish Sea, a fact which benefits leading providers such as Seatruck, Stena and Isle of Man Steampacket.
There is a huge opportunity for RoRo and LoLo operators to gain access to London and the South East easily through London Medway. With our experienced team of stevedores, fork lift fleet, container handlers and container gantry crane, London Medway can handle RoRo and LoLo for both accompanied and unaccompanied traffic.
Location is everything and KGV is one of the closest RoRo ports for the majority of the UK and Ireland’s cargo with excellent transport links. This huge demand has allowed the port’s workforce to develop unrivalled handling skills and means they’re expertly trained in everything from driving and loading to precision parking.
We also have a vast knowledge of inspections, auditing, ISPS requirements, and safety protocols to support our RoRo services. Driven by efficiency, our roll on roll off facilities offer high speed ship turnarounds to maximise profits and minimise delays.
