Sustainable Construction Partners is a collaboration between Peel Ports Group, Ecocem and Mibau Stema, created to explore how earlier engagement across the construction supply chain can support more sustainable infrastructure delivery. The programme has been developed to encourage collaboration between asset owners, consultants, contractors, material suppliers and logistics specialists.
Following discussions at the House of Commons and ongoing industry research, one theme continues to emerge: sustainability decisions are often made too late in a project's lifecycle. By bringing together expertise in low-carbon materials, sustainable logistics and infrastructure delivery, Sustainable Construction Partners aims to help the industry identify practical pathways to reducing carbon emissions whilst improving project certainty.
Major infrastructure projects require collaboration from the earliest stages to improve delivery outcomes.
Earlier engagement helps improve visibility, resilience and programme certainty across the supply chain
Material selection and logistics decisions can significantly influence whole-life carbon performance.
The construction industry is under increasing pressure to meet sustainability targets whilst maintaining commercial viability.
