Peel Ports has won a coveted marketing award following the success of a campaign to attract fresh talent to the business.
The Recruitment Marketing Awards (RMA), held on 30 October at The Brewery in London, saw the UK’s top marketing teams come together to celebrate the year’s best performing recruitment drives.
Peel Ports walked away with In-House Marketing Team of the Year following the success of its campaign “The ingredients to make a great port are…great people”.
Judges commented that Peel Port’s in-house team had produced a dynamic, people-led campaign which appealed to a broad range of prospective employees in a traditionally conservative sector.
At the beginning of 2019, Peel Ports began to recruit 250 new staff across a number of disciplines and skills. It needed to attract people of all backgrounds and levels to allow it to expand and strengthen its wide range of logistics services.
In the first two months of the campaign going live, Peel Ports made 36 full time hires, surpassing its initial forecasts and saw applications increase by 100 per cent.

As the UK’s second largest port group, Peel Ports owns and operates six of the UK’s most important ports (Liverpool, Heysham, Manchester Ship Canal, Medway (Sheerness / Chatham). Several recent high-profile commercial announcements in the last year created new opportunities for development at all levels of the business within the business, including senior leaders.
