"The size of the port is just breath-taking. It's not until you get on site and see the scale of activity that you realise just how much machinery is involved in the day-to-day operation of the port. It's a very exciting prospect for a trainee engineer." - Megan Pickering, 3rd Year Apprentice
The application process
Please note that applications for our apprenticeship scheme are currently closed.
Once you've decided that an apprenticeship is for you, you'll need to apply via the Careers site. You will receive an email to acknowledge that we have received your application.
If your application is shortlisted, you'll be contacted by the Talent Team to have an initial discussion. This will allow us to clarify some basic information and if everything is ok, to invite you to attend one of our assessment centres.
As part of the overall assessment you will be asked to complete an online psychometric test and a link will be sent to you on email prior to the assessment centre. You will need to complete the tests for your application to be considered.
Full details will be sent to you confirming the full details of when and where the assessment centre will take place. The half-day session will consist of interviews, a practical test and a group exercise. Several members of the Peel Ports Engineering and HR teams will be involved in the sessions and there will be the opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have about the apprenticeships or about working for Peel Ports in general.
