Introducing the new Transatlantic services from Liverpool2
Direct calls to the USA in 7 days from Liverpool2
Direct calls to Savannah and Charleston
Liverpool2, will welcome its largest regular caller to date when Maersk and MSC introduce their transatlantic container service to the port from 20th July 2018.
Maersk and MSC’s alliance, 2M, is switching its TA2 service from Felixstowe to Liverpool for an undefined period of time. At the same time, Maersk Line’s South American service, Colombia Express, will also start calling at the port of Liverpool.
Liverpool will be the final European port of call for both weekly services as they head westbound across the Atlantic. The ships will load UK export cargo such as whisky, food products and trade machinery.
This is a fantastic opportunity for companies looking to export to the USA as this is the first time the Port of Liverpool has had a direct connection to the Southern Atlantic US ports of Charleston and Savannah.
Services to North America
The ICL westbound service offers calls at Chester, PA and Wilmington.
ACL 'A' Service North Atlantic
The ACL 'A' North Atlantic service calls in Canada and the USA.
The 2M service from Port of Liverpool is only a 7 day steam to the USA. This service has now extended our port range in the USA with a direct call at Savannah for the first time.
Columbia Express Westbound
The COLEX service offers export opportunities to the USA and the first direct call from Liverpool to Charleston (North).
Who should use this service and why
These new connections, in addition to our existing direct calls make Liverpool the key port in the heart of Britain & Ireland’s export region for servicing northern and central America. It offers manufacturers, producers and traders alike a much more competitive route into key markets by reducing the road miles from point of production to their UK port. Multimodal connections ensure those for those located further a field have an equally efficient journey.
Scottish exporters benefit from our new rail service with at least three departures per week from Mossend as well as a weekly feeder service with BG Freight from Greenock to Liverpool. Whilst Irish cargo owners benefit from 3 container feeder sailings by BG Freight per week right into the container terminal, supported by multiply ferry crossings per day between both Belfast and Dublin and the Port of Liverpool.
