On Thursday 28 September 2017, Peel Ports will be hosting: Global Container Gateway to Scotland event and cruise at the Glasgow Science Centre located at 50 Pacific Quay, G51 1EA on the banks of the River Clyde from 2pm – 7pm.
This unique event is an opportunity to discuss the insights that have helped position Peel Ports’ Clydeport in Greenock as the Containers Gateway to Scotland.
The opening of our £400million Liverpool2 Terminal at the Port of Liverpool has transformed the playing field for us, bringing deep-sea connections much closer to Scotland. Mega ocean container ships can now call directly into Liverpool, which acts as a feeder hub to us in Greenock, Ireland and Manchester, allowing closer import and export routes to market.
The destinations of the containers that already come through Greenock Ocean Terminal vary, this event will allow you to better understand the routes, destinations and lines that currently connects Greenock Ocean Terminal. It will also enable you to better understand how our investment in Liverpool2 has given us the confidence to plan for an even brighter future for Scotland’s export capabilities, which brings deep sea connectivity closer to the Scottish market, and will ultimately save importers and exporters money.
Our bespoke event will see a panel of key members from the international shipping supply chain come together to discuss both the challenges and the opportunities ahead of us all.
The session will be followed by a bespoke cruise on the River Clyde where drinks and canapes will be served for guests enjoyment on-board our very own chartered vessel.
