From paper to panels – how we’re servicing the forest products industry

Across Peel Ports Group we handle more than 1.75million tonnes of Forest Products every year intended for a wide range of industries and manufacturers throughout the UK. That’s the equivalent of 10billion sheets of paper or around 2,916 units of timber framing for the construction industry.

Forest Products is big business in the UK. International trade of forest products (imports and exports) is worth just over £13 billion per year to the UK economy. Currently we handle imported products from all over the world including Brazil, China, Malaysia, North America, Canada and the Baltic States arriving at our network of ports and terminals across the UK.

We have dedicated handling capabilities at the Port of Liverpool, London Medway, Great Yarmouth, Clydeport, and Heysham (RoRo services only) servicing the needs of the biggest global names and market leaders in the industry.
